Vetiver is native to India and is mentioned in ancient Yoga texts where it is called Sacred Kusha Grass. Rural Indians weave mats from the fragrant roots of vetiver which are then soaked in water and hung over window openings. The evaporating water cools the interior spaces of their homes and infuses the space with a rich, earthy fragrance. The Bhagavad Gita suggests that Yogis sit on mats of vetiver (kusha grass) when meditating. The earthy fragrance of vetiver is unmistakable. It's grounding, calming, deep and soothing.
Tripura's Vetiver Essential Oil is steam distilled from the roots of the vetiver plant grown in Haiti.
